About Us and the Position

At Knowing Technologies (KT) our aim is clear: Propelling schools forward with a high-impact instructional technology program and high-performance infrastructure. We specialize in equipping schools with the tools needed to build teacher confidence, create educational experiences students crave, and stay competitive, saving time and eliminating wasteful overspending. Our team of motivated former educators and technology architects helps clients solve problems — from complex network engineering to critical instructional design — so educators can focus on what’s most important: teaching and learning.

We started in 2010 as a technology Managed Service Provider (MSP), but we’ve realized it’s not enough to just implement technology as a reliable utility. For that reason, KT has evolved its suite of services to more completely embrace the technological needs of our customers by focusing on the experience our schools have with our products.

Our new service delivery model takes a proactive planning and relationship-centered approach to create Technology Solutions Partnerships (TSP) that give our schools control of their mission-driven, high performing technology programs through the creation of strategic technology plans.

Centrally important in our service model, the Customer Standards Engineer provides the essential elements of the technology plan: assessments.Customer Standards Engineers perform regular assessments of customer technology systems, e.g., network, security, servers and power, etc., against KT’s continuously evolving library of standards.Customer Standards Engineers then work with Solutions Architects in analyzing the data to create recommendations that offer guidance for technology program growth toward strategic objectives. These recommendations are the answers to most compelling questions our customers have about their program: Where are the risks? What is causing the failures? Where should we be going? What problems should we be solving first? What platforms should we be using?

KT’s Customer Standards Engineer role is ideal for an experienced engineer eager to advance their skills in solving problems. It’s a heads-up, eyes-forward role, compelling respect and attention from customers and team members alike. Successful candidates will have the professional experience to lead technical analysis and communicate effectively with technical and non- technical stakeholders to build customer trust and stickiness. This senior engineering role reports to the Director of Product Development and works closely with other technical and instructional innovation staff as part of our nimble, expanding company. If you’re passionate about using technology for educational good and are excited about the idea of shaping the direction of a company, we’re looking for you!

As a senior technology professional, your experience may also be called upon for strategic projects, diagnosis of the most difficult technical problems, and coaching of teammates in other positions.
